Julia Kelleher, Cr. Photog., CPP and Jenny Mason, CPP are sisters from the West Coast who specialize in newborn portraits, specifically focusing on relationship portraiture and capturing the tenderness of the unconditional love of a new child. This workshop is a small, hands-on group learning environment-alternating between Julia’s retail studio in Bend, OR and Jenny’s retail studio in Orange County, CA (coming Sept. 2012). You will learn posing skills, leaving with an arsenal of new looks to try with your newborn families, and images for your growing portfolio. We’ll cover shooting newborns with studio strobes and still getting soft, beautiful depth of field. When you head home, you’ll know how to talk parents through the session, from calming techniques to complex poses, allowing you to take control of your session. Learn the latest in post processing and some of the industry’s best kept secrets for enhancing bokeh and perfecting black and white. On day two it’s all about sales and how to create a sales system in your studio that gets you to your “happy $$ place” every time. Learn techniques in ProSelect that encourage clients to spend more and emotionally invest them in the process without pushing a hard sell. Finally, how to create a pricing structure that gives you the money you want while at the same time, gives your clients only what they want and need.
